Inbound/Outbound Email
SPEAKER_00 (00:02 – 00:20): OK, I want to introduce you to the way the email system in Campaign in the Box works. So we support inbound and outbound emails from Campaign in the Box. By default, you get an email address that looks a bit like this.
SPEAKER_00 (00:21 – 01:00): We could work with you to get a custom email address. So this one needs to match exactly this. If you change it, it probably won’t work. Then there’s… You’ll need to also have this plugin enabled, which it is by default, but don’t disable that. That enables WordPress to send email addresses from that default email address. And, you know, WordPress will use it for all the typical WordPress stuff, like for the passwords, and if you’re using BuddyPress, emails from that, etc., etc.
SPEAKER_00 (01:02 – 01:36): So the other thing to keep in mind that outbound email needs to be configured with the Mailer. You won’t be able to do this turned on unless you get your own custom email domain. Okay, so in order to send emails you can send them directly from a contact, you can say send email, you can use the mass mailer by doing…
SPEAKER_00 (01:40 – 02:32): I won’t go through that. And finally there’s the inbound emails. And inbound emails, the way it works is when You receive an email on this address, then what you can do is you can set that up in your Gmail, you can set up a forwarder, for example, set up that template as a forwarder, and you can forward it from your Gmail, or any other technique. And what we will do is we’ll put those emails into this folder here, and then You will need to use the Job Scheduler to pick up that mail. So if you look in…
SPEAKER_00 (02:33 – 02:52): I think it’s one of these. This one is configured by default to pick up mail from that directory and create an email to activity processing using an inbound email You can change these settings if you want.
SPEAKER_00 (02:54 – 03:06): What that will look like is a bit like this. If you go here, you’ll see the email here as an inbound email.
